I believe that like a boiling tea kettle, when we keep feelings and thoughts bottled up inside of our bodies and heads, we eventually explode with the tension. With perception, playfulness and compassion, I would like to give you the opportunity to safely express your fears, expectations, and dreams in the hope that you will find the release, support and perspective we all need to feel grounded and sane.
Licensed in both New York and California, I have extensive experience as an educator, advocator, therapist, mediator, group facilitator, and clinical case manager for children, adolescents, couples, and families both domestically and globally. I began my career in Malawi, Africa teaching leadership and life skills activities to adolescent boys and girls and working with adult women on community development. Upon my return from Africa, my employment scope widened to include the provision of both life skills and mental health services to a diverse group of children, teenagers and their families within community mental health agencies, schools, therapeutic group homes, and foster family and adoption agencies.
In my private practice, I have facilitated groups for children whose lives have been impacted by parental separation, divorce or remarriage; for parents struggling with divorce and needing both support and education to better understand the impact their behavior has on the children; and lastly, for girls ranging in age from 10-18 in need of a safe space to share, grow and explore themselves, while learning tools to better navigate the challenges inherent in today’s world.
