“The central quality of mediation…[is] its capacity to reorient the parties toward each other, not by imposing rules on them, but by helping them to achieve a new and shared perception of their relationship.”
-Lon Fuller, 1902-1978
Author and Professor, Harvard Law School
Whether you are in conflict with your spouse, business partner(s), family member(s), etc., mediation is an alternative to taking legal action or simply avoiding the issue.
Using an understanding-based approach to conflict, we support all parties in the process of more deeply identifying the core of what’s at stake. In our experience, the content of the arguments, as they are expressed, is not usually the driving force behind the anger.
By facilitating sessions that foster listening and understanding, we provide the seemingly opposing parties opportunities to broaden or even shift perspectives and achieve mutually satisfying outcomes.
